You want to be the fun homeschool mom, but there is a whole list of curriculum to-do's that you want to check off the list. None of these goals are bad, but do they allow time for other important things in your homeschool?
There can be a happy medium to being a strict planner or loosey-goosey with your homeschool. And it's also okay to lean more towards one end or the other.
Let's find that sweet spot that helps you accomplish the important academics, but also gives you margin for the building of character and relationships in your family.

The ups and downs of life are inevitable. It happened prior to homeschooling and prior to even having children. Why should life be any different now?
Well, it kind of is since you are now providing for your children's education and have little people who rely upon you 24/7.
What should a homeschool mom do when faced with little and big interruptions, life events, tragedies, and all that occurs in between? What happens to those homeschool plans? Where does the curriculum fit in?
Whether this describes a current situation in your life, you're trying to get back on your feet again, or you want to be prepared for the next event, this is the episode for you.

Even with millions more homeschoolers this year than ever before, what you are doing is still seen as counter-cultural. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of people and things calling you to focus your heart and time elsewhere.
Along with the decision to homeschool came the decision to focus on raising your children and creating the family that reflects your values and goals. But it's really easy to get sidetracked with "shiny objects" calling for your devotion.
But what if you truly make homeschooling and the lifestyle that encircles that and motherhood your most important priority? What would your life look like? And what would the ripple effect be?
After 20 years of making raising my children a priority, I have a few thoughts that I'd love to share with you in hopes that it encourages and gives you the determination to look at these years differently.

The default for homeschool is to focus so much on the curriculum and formal education that it's easy to forget "the other stuff." But the truth is, children can learn so much more from their years of homeschool than just the school part of it.
Today's guest, Sonya Shafer, of Simply Charlotte Mason will encourage you to not forego the other parts of homeschooling, like character building. She breaks down the process of instilling good habits into our children in a very simple step-by-step. And she will share exactly how this will impact your entire family and your homeschool academics as well.
Get ready to walk away from this episode with some amazing tactical tips to begin today!

There are so many inputs homeschool moms get about what to do and what not to do. And that list could be really long...but it also depends upon a person's opinions and their preferences.
Today, I want to offer you 3 things that can easily get pushed aside each day as a stay at home mom who homeschools. The major to-do's are put on the top of the list, but I want to offer you a few that your heart is probably wanting, but you might just ignore.
My hope is that these are encouraging and edifying to you in your motherhood journey.

Diet culture has really messed with many women for way too many years. I fell into the trap of believing whatever the latest trends were. And consistently, I didn't feel or look any better.
The ups and downs of the messaging women receive is so confusing and leads many of us to wish we had a different body and could just lose weight.
Today, I am sharing a little from a lifelong journey and the major takeaways I've discovered in the past 2 years. There have been highs and lows and after sharing a bit on Instagram, this episode has long been requested.
My hope is that you can hear your story in mine and decide to make some really positive changes for your physical fitness after listening to this episode. I know it's not my regular content and we'll be back to homeschool topics next week, but I pray this episode blesses you.
